After the ashes of the Prime Books Australia debacle, the phoenix has risen in the shape of two new collections from Paul Haines.

Slice of Life will be released in late October, early November 2008 and focuses on the more humourous side of Paul's writing. It will be also be part of a fundraising drive for Paul's battle with cancer, with most of the proceeds from the sales going directly to Paul and his family. It will primarily be available through the usual speculative fiction channels (conventions, websites and specialists).

The Last Days of Kali Yuga will be released in December 2008 by Brimstone Press and available in bookshops throughout Australia. It focuses on the darker, nastier side of Paul's body of work. It is available for pre-order at www.brimstonepress.com.au.

More details to come.

If you'd like to assist Paul Haines' battle to afford Avastin** so he can continue to battle cancer (something we clearly can't help him with though we'd like to) you can donate to a fund friends have set up for him READ ABOUT IT HERE. You'll not only be helping someone who describes himself as both talented and handsome, you'll also be helping the rest of us here at SuperNOVA, because, let's face it, we need all the critiquers we can get.

Miranda Siemienowicz's Through a Black Breeze, appeared in Wet Ink Magazine.

**(a monoclonal antibody that is not part of Medicare or the private health system's funding and costs $20,000)
